Not Just Another Portrait

There’s something Beautiful and haunting about Timothy M Duong’s paintings, Timothy’s interest in painting starts with life itself as a muse and those bleak mistakes and moments in life that when captured can make a painting seem effortlessly timeless. Being inspired directly from life, painting has become an exploration and documentation of his view of the world,  “Anything that sparks a resonance inside of me to ask the question “why” is probably the reason why I continue my work”.

My cousin whom passed away several years ago introduced me to comic book art when I was very young and for years into my high school that was all I was doing.  While I was deep into the world of comics and the linear art, I bumped into “Kabuki” a book written and illustrated by David Mack and that was probably one of the most pivotal points in my artistic development.
