Hong Kong Fashion Week AW2012
Modessa Couture
The label was established in China in 2004. The idea is to turn a family run evening dress manufactures into an internationally respected fashion house, whilst promoting Lebanese designers.
Emphasizing on design and quality, Modassa couture has loyal clients in the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
The show was tame, nothing extra ordinary happened both with the models and the clothes. The collection was subtle, a sea of pastels with bits of glitter and lace. The models themselves didn’t wow the crowds, they simply walked up and down, barely in a straight line at times. The styling was also subtle, one can imagine almost like a wedding where the bride does her own make up and sister in law does the hair.
What fascinated me most was that the dresses where beautifully cut and the combination of fabrics and colors belonged more in a spring/ summer collection then a winter collection. I’m curious to see what the companies spring collection looks like. I would love to see a better choreographed and styled show where the models actually made me wish I had that dress.
